At the Tivoli Bays Wildlife Management Area, a barge, believed to be loaded with recycled dirt fill material, ran aground on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Dock Shuter, who lives across the river in Glasco, set out to investigate and sends these photos he took of the incident. The barge, one of two being pushed upriver by the tug Capt Zeke, was punctured and quickly took on water and began listing heavily to port at the stern which was still in deeper water. Salvage plans are unknown at this time.
